Rumours surrounding the family of Nigerian music stars Adekunle Gold and Simi gained fresh attention this week after the singer publicly addressed online claims that the couple welcomed twins.

Speaking during an interview with Greatday Houston, Adekunle Gold dismissed the speculation and confirmed that the couple recently welcomed a baby boy, not twins.

“...not even twins, that is the internet by the way. We have a son,” he said.
The singer also reflected on life with Simi as both his wife and creative partner, describing their relationship as inspiring and collaborative.

“First of all, it is interesting to be married to another fantastic songwriter. We bounce off ideas in the home,” he added.

The clarification comes months after the couple announced the birth of their second child in April without revealing the baby’s gender.

While entertainment blogs focused heavily on the viral rumours, several mainstream platforms highlighted the couple’s continued effort to maintain privacy around their family life despite their celebrity status.

However, the deeper issue reflects how quickly celebrity speculation spreads online, especially when public figures choose to keep personal moments private. In Nigeria’s entertainment space, fan curiosity often fuels rumours before official confirmation emerges.

Adekunle Gold and Simi married in a private ceremony in 2019 and welcomed their first child, Adejare, in 2020. Over the years, the pair have built a reputation as one of Nigeria’s most admired celebrity couples while carefully balancing fame and family life.
