A 2023 remark by singer B-Red about his father, Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke, becoming Nigeria’s president has resurfaced online shortly after Adeleke secured another term in office.

B-Red's comment was not made during the 2026 election. It came from a 2023 interview that has now attracted renewed attention following his father's re-election.

In the interview, reported by PUNCH, B-Red was asked whether he believed Adeleke could eventually become president. He said he did not want his father to pursue the position because of the pressure it could place on the family.

However, he added that he believed Adeleke would make a difference if given the opportunity.

“But I know my dad, he has such a good heart, but if he does become the president, this country go change oh,” B-Red said.

He also argued that his father would focus on helping Nigerians rather than using public office to enrich himself.

Adeleke's 2026 Osun victory has given the old comment a fresh political context. INEC's results and independent reports show that Adeleke won the August 15 governorship election with 511,067 votes, defeating APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji, who scored 444,815 votes.

However, the resurfaced interview does not establish that Adeleke is seeking the Nigerian presidency or that B-Red has made a new endorsement of a presidential bid. The comments were made in 2023 and were about a hypothetical future scenario.

For now, what has changed is the attention around an old prediction following Adeleke's successful bid for a second term as Osun governor.
