Bishop Thomas Aremu has sparked conversation about marriage and financial responsibility after advising husbands to provide money for their wives and take care of their needs.

The former Living Faith Church Worldwide vice president made the remarks while speaking at MLF Day 1, according to Vanguard, in a video circulating online.

Aremu urged men not to deny their wives financial support, particularly when they are responsible for caring for the home and children.

“Women like money, so if you have money, spend it on them. Give her money. She is the one taking care of the children, and she will like you,” he said.

He also said husbands should not automatically view their wives’ desire for items such as gold as ungodly, arguing that enjoying such things does not necessarily conflict with religious values.

The remarks have renewed discussion about money, marriage and how couples should handle financial responsibilities at home.
