A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to Nigerian cryptocurrency entrepreneur Linus Williams Ifejirika in an ongoing case involving alleged impersonation of social media commentator Martins Vincent Otse.

The ruling was confirmed on Friday following his arraignment, with the court setting specific conditions for his release.

According to a statement shared by activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore on his official Facebook page, Blord was granted bail on self-recognizance by the Federal High Court in Abuja.

The court also ordered him to submit his international passport as part of the bail conditions.

Blord had earlier been remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre on April 1, 2026, pending further proceedings in the case.

The case centres on allegations of impersonation involving VeryDarkMan, a prominent online commentator known for his controversial social media presence.

The bail ruling does not conclude the case, as proceedings are still ongoing before the court. In Nigeria’s judicial system, bail typically allows an accused person to remain out of custody while awaiting trial, provided court conditions are met.

Such conditions often include travel restrictions or surrender of travel documents, as seen in this case.

The case reflects a growing trend where disputes originating on social media increasingly move into formal legal proceedings in Nigeria.

Public figures like Blord and VeryDarkMan have large online followings, meaning legal disputes between them often attract significant public attention and media coverage.

While the court has granted bail, the substantive allegations remain unresolved and will be determined as the trial continues.
