Davido says his appeal to US President Donald Trump over fears of violence ahead of the Osun governorship election has received a response from the United States.
The Afrobeats star had urged Trump to pay attention to the situation in Osun ahead of Saturday’s election, warning about the possibility of violence and disruption of the democratic process.
Hours after making the appeal, Davido posted on X that the US government had contacted him.
“Dem don reach out ooooo. DEY PLAY! U think the rest of the world is undemocratic like Una! Una go see something,” he wrote.
Davido did not disclose which US officials contacted him or reveal what was discussed. There has also been no publicly identified response from the US government confirming the contact.
The development comes as tension and political competition continue to build ahead of the August 15 Osun governorship election.
With the election only days away, attention is now turning to what happens next — and whether Davido will reveal more about the alleged US response.
