Delta Woman Found Dead in Warri as Police Arrest Suspected Internet Fraudster

Police authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody, but many details surrounding the case remain under investigation.

The incident occurred on Wednesday in the Edjeba area of Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State, where a young woman was allegedly killed inside her boyfriend's apartment on Ajidi Street.

According to local reports, the suspect, described by residents as an alleged internet fraudster, was arrested after the landlord of the compound reportedly heard a loud disturbance and alerted the police.

Officers who arrived at the scene allegedly discovered the deceased inside the apartment and immediately took the suspect into custody. The victim's remains were subsequently moved to a morgue pending further investigations.

Residents told local journalists that they had seen the woman a day earlier after she returned from the market with food items she intended to prepare for her boyfriend. Neighbours also claimed the couple were frequently seen together in the suspect's white Lexus SUV.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed that an incident had occurred and that police investigations were ongoing.

Authorities have not publicly released the identities of either the suspect or the victim, and investigators have yet to announce a motive.
