A major moment for Imo State has emerged from Nigeria’s male pageantry scene as Isinwa Chidozie Senator takes the national spotlight after being crowned Mr Universe Nigeria 2026 and Mr Cosmo Nigeria.

Senator emerged as the overall winner at the grand finale held on Saturday at Skyview, The Lekki Coliseum, in Lagos.

The Imo State representative was announced as the winner during the event, with Mr Lagos seen holding his hand shortly before the announcement.

In a video shared from the event by the Nigerian organisers, the anchor announced, “The winner for Mr Cosmo Nigeria and Mr Universe 2026 is Mr Imo,” triggering applause from the audience.

The victory means Senator will now have the opportunity to represent Nigeria at the Mister Cosmo International pageant scheduled to take place in Vietnam in January.

Beyond the national crown, the new titleholder is also expected to receive a brand-new car, cash awards and other gifts with a combined value of more than ₦7 million as part of his prizes.

Senator is a fashion model and sports enthusiast. He is also an alumnus of Imo State University, where he previously held the title of Mr Imo State University.

His latest victory adds to an already developing career in male pageantry. Senator previously finished as the first runner-up at an earlier edition of Misters of Nigeria before returning to compete for the national title.

His emergence as Mr Universe Nigeria 2026 and Mr Cosmo Nigeria gives him another major opportunity to take his pageantry career beyond Nigeria as he prepares for the international stage.

At the same event, Mr Lagos emerged as the first runner-up, while Mr Edo finished as the second runner-up.

Other contestants also received recognition in different categories.

Mr Benue won the Gentlemanx Top Model category, while Mr Enugu secured the Mister Tourism Africa Nigeria title.

Mr Ogun was also crowned Man of the Year.

The Mr Universe Nigeria pageant is organised as a platform for selecting representatives for international male pageants, with contestants drawn from different states across Nigeria.

Senator will now represent Nigeria at the Mister Cosmo International pageant, where he is expected to compete alongside representatives from other countries.

The development also comes against the backdrop of Nigeria’s recent participation in international male pageantry.

In 2025, Chidi Udengwu was crowned Mister Universe Nigeria and went on to represent Nigeria at the international Mister Universe competition in the United States.

Udengwu had earlier emerged as one of the Top Six finalists at the Misters of Nigeria 2025 grand finale held on May 11 at the MUSON Centre in Lagos.

For Senator, the 2026 victory marks another significant step in his pageantry journey and puts him among the Nigerian representatives preparing to compete internationally.

From representing Imo State to earning a chance to represent Nigeria abroad, Senator’s latest crown marks another big moment in his pageantry journey.
