Liverpool were held by Fulham at Anfield while Chelsea were forced to share the points with unbeaten Hull City at Stamford Bridge, making Saturday a frustrating afternoon for two Premier League heavyweights.

Liverpool's home struggles continued with a goalless draw against Fulham, while Chelsea twice surrendered their advantage against newly promoted Hull City in a 2–2 thriller.

At Anfield, Liverpool dominated much of the early stages but could not find a way past a determined Fulham defence. Alexander Isak came close inside the opening 10 minutes after being played through by Ryan Gravenberch, but his effort went narrowly wide.

Fulham also created a major opportunity after Liverpool gave the ball away inside the box. Gonzalo García failed to convert the chance, with Jérémy Jacquet making a crucial clearance off the line to keep Liverpool level.

The chances continued before half-time. Victor Muñoz saw his header saved by Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno, while Antonee Robinson headed wide for the visitors.

Liverpool increased the pressure after the restart, but Leno remained difficult to beat. The Fulham goalkeeper denied both Isak and Dominik Szoboszlai, helping his side maintain a clean sheet at Anfield.

Fulham threatened to steal all three points late in the match when Josh King attempted to curl an effort beyond Alisson, but the Liverpool goalkeeper made the save. The final whistle confirmed a 0–0 draw.

The result gives Fulham their first Premier League point of the season after three opening defeats. Liverpool remain unbeaten but have now gone four consecutive Premier League home matches without a victory, increasing the pressure on the defending side as the early title race develops.

There was another surprise result at Stamford Bridge, where newly promoted Hull City held Chelsea to a 2–2 draw.

Chelsea made a quick start when Morgan Rogers opened the scoring in the seventh minute. Hull, however, responded strongly. Mohamed Belloumi equalised in the 28th minute before scoring again just six minutes later to put the visitors 2–1 ahead.

Chelsea went into half-time behind despite enjoying periods of possession, leaving the home side needing a response after the interval.

That response eventually arrived in the 66th minute. João Pedro converted Cole Palmer's low cross to restore parity and make it 2–2.

Chelsea pushed for a winning goal during the closing stages, but Hull defended resolutely. Konstantinos Tzolakis also made important saves as the visitors resisted Chelsea's pressure and secured a valuable point away from home.

The result means Hull remain unbeaten after their first four Premier League matches, a remarkable start for a newly promoted side. Chelsea, meanwhile, dropped points at home after failing to complete the comeback.

Saturday's two results produced contrasting emotions for the clubs involved. Liverpool will be frustrated after failing to turn their opportunities into goals, while Chelsea will regret allowing Hull to recover from an early setback.

For Fulham and Hull, however, the points provide valuable encouragement. Fulham finally opened their league account, while Hull continued their unbeaten start against one of England's biggest clubs.

Two big Premier League names dropped points, while the promoted sides showed they are ready to fight for every result.
